Frederic Morehouse
FREDERIC  COOK  MOREHOUSE ’59 died Janu­ary 10, 2011 in Louisville, Ky. Under the stage name Fred Major, he appeared in more than 90 plays as a resident actor in the Actors Theatre of Louisville. A member of the Krokodiloes while at Harvard, he ini­tially worked in the printing business but soon de­cided to pursue a theatrical career in New York, per­forming with The Actors Studio and Off Broadway as well as in regional theaters across the country. He joined Actors Theatre in 1982. Offstage, he recorded hundreds of books at the American Printing House for the Blind, in Louisville, and did voiceovers for industrial films and the Military Channel. He was past president of the local American Federation of ‘ Television and Radio Artists union, representing announcers. He leaves his wife, Ann (Hodapp), three children, Richard, Susan, and Macon, and two sis­ters, Louise Henry and Lilias Bruce.

Mr. Major has worked on and off-Broadway and in regional theatre, soaps and commercials as well as several national tours.
