Henry Simmons Romaine, 74, died Wednesday August 22nd, 2007 in Sullivan’s Island, SC. Born in New York City, son of the late Theodore C. Romaine and Cornelia S. Romaine. After graduation from Harvard University in 1954, he served for four years as a naval aviator. He then joined The Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York (“MONY”), rising to the office of President and Chief Operating Officer. Later he became Vice Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of American General Corporation in Houston, TX. Survived by his wife, Susan Donaldson Romaine and daughter Kathryn Kerr Romaine, son Henry S. Romaine, Jr. of Jackson, WY, daughter, Hilary H. Romaine of Santa Monica, CA, two brothers, Arthur C. Romaine and Anthony N. Romaine of New York City and one granddaughter, Casey Romaine.
