Edward Henry Martin, AB 1960, Harvard Law, 1963
Graduated from Lexington High School (MA), where he ran track and played basketball.
At Harvard he was on the Cross Country and Track teams, (Cross Country captain) and member of the Varsity Club. He was an avid member of the Harvard Band, and earned his AB as a Music Major. He joined the Krokodiloes in 1959-60 as a first tenor. He contributed several excellent arrangements, including Moonlight in Vermont and Sophisticated Lady. He also contributed a memorable trumpet solo to the recording of St. James Infirmary on the 1960 “In the Square” album.
Ed then decided on a career in law, and entered Harvard Law School. Along the way he accepted a summer internship in Tokyo, which launched a career as an specialist in Asian business and tax law (primarily Japanese and Chinese). To this Ed added a unique perspective and irrepressible and irreverent wit.
Ed is survived by his wife Hiroko, his daughter Lisa, and two grandchildren.
