Seton Ijams died July 17, 1993. The son of John Horton and Margaret (Porter) Ijams, he was born October 9, 1922, in Lawrence, New York. He prepared at St. Mark’s School, Southboro, Massachusetts, before entering Harvard, where he received an AB. in 1948 as of our Class. In 1948, Ijams began working for National Distillers Products Corp., where he eventually became Traffic Manager. He retired in 1984. Ijams was survived by his wife, the former Anne Mellen, to whom he was married on June 9, 1951, and their four children. His Harvard brothers were John Horton Ijams ’40, Maitland Tabb Ijams ’48, and Porter Ijams ’53.

Seton Ijams was a very agreeable fellow who I remember used to criticize the quality of the belts I wore. He was a perfect dresser! He was also a terribly nice guy and a dear fellow, and I’m sorry he’s not with us.
